Gray Head at Telluride
REAL ESTATE in COLORADO
Homesites span
35 or more acres each. Nestled at the base of Mount Sneffels
Wilderness Area, they offer breathtaking views of 14,000-foot peaks
across the canyon in the Wilson Range. Because they are sited on
southern-facing slopes, the light lingers, bathing Gray Head in warm
Colorado sunshine more than 300 days of the year. World-class
skiing, snowshoeing, hiking, horseback-riding and mountain biking
are steps away. And with the towns of Telluride and Mountain Village
less than 15 minutes away, Gray Head offers easy access to some of
the best alpine skiing and fly-fishing in America.
Imagine coming across a rustic cabin in the woods. Smoke from the
crackling fire curls up through the treetops and inside the window
the glow of the hearth; the sounds of laughter and smell of hot
chocolate soothe the soul. This too-good-to-be-true scene exists at
the Home Owner's Cabin at Gray Head. This 1880's Historical Cabin is
furnished with charming antiques, a wood burning fireplace, an
extensive library of books full of information and stories about the
region, as well as a kitchen, lounge and a landscaped stone patio
with a grand barbecue facility. The rustic cabin and all its
comforts are available for all Gray Head property owners.
The Gray Head Mountain Run - Taking place on the trails of the
Gray Head preserve, this race will soon become a standard for
mountain trail runners. The course winds on some of the most scenic
terrain available in the Telluride region, affording spectacular
views of Mt Wilson and the surrounding mesas while challenging
participants with single-track trails and steep ascents and descents
at altitudes above 9,000’. All race participants will receive a
T-Shirt and free BBQ following the race. Only 100 spots are
available for this inaugural year so don’t miss out, register NOW!
This is a great warm up for the Imogene!
We enjoyed our first winter at Gray Head and are thrilled about
the possibilities of the spring and summer months. This winter and
spring we have been exploring the trail system on the property. The
16 miles of trails travel through a unique Pine Tree Forest, to the
top of Hawn Mountain, on rugged talus fields, along creeks, by the
waterfall, and to the edge of the National Forest and Wilderness
Area. The trails are for all abilities and multi activty use-we look
forward to hiking, biking, and riding with you.
Gray Head at Telluride is truly a unique development. As the Gray
Head project grew out of creativity and vision we feel the Foremen
positions require similar vision. Our individual and combined
professional backgrounds- catering, landscaping, guiding, building,
design, and working in the ski and service industry, will allow us
to provide valuable services for the Gray Head POA.
It was great fun helping you plan and host dinners and ice-skating
parities this winter. With the long days of summer there will be
plenty of opportunities for fishing, hiking, and riding followed by
great BBQ’s or dinners at the owners cabin.
If you need any assistance planning your summer visit to Gray Head
please call us at our home, located above the equestrian center,
970-728-2411 or on the cell phone, 970-275-3932. We can also be
reached via email, may@rmi.net. We look forward to making your
summer experience at Gray Head a great one!
